This is not your average Costa Rican vacation rental, but a wonderful opportunity for a unique, romantic vacation in a real tree house near the beach in Costa Rica. This is a one bedroom Tree House nestled up in a Banyan Tree on our property, 'Playa Selva', in Mal Pais, where you can see and hear Howler and Capuchin Monkeys, a large variety of tropical birds, and other Costa Rican wildlife.

The Playa Selva Tree House is a custom and creatively built one bedroom cabin in Mal Pais, Costa Rica. We have the only real tree house for rent in the area, with character you just don't often see in other vacation rentals or hotels. It's situated on about 1.5 acres of private property (Playa Selva), and is an easy 3-4 minute trail walk to a beautiful unpopulated beach cove, and good point break surf nearby at Mar Azul as well.
This Mal Pais Tree House is a studio, (approx. 400 sq. ft.) and is ideally suited for two, but can sleep up to three. It's equipped with a kitchenette, a full separate bathroom with shower and hot water (no 'suidice' shower head here!) additional outdoor shower, ceiling fan & portable fan, balcony with sitting area, with one double bed and one small single as additional option.
Playa Selva Tree House Lodging also rents surf boards, and offers games such as horse shoes, croquet and bocci ball. Nearby, there's also surf & kite board lessons, canopy tour, bicycle, quad (ATV), and car rentals, yoga classes, massage, acupuncture, pilates & dance classes, chiropractic care, CKT, EFT, horse-back riding, fishing, swimming, shelling, hiking in Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve, etc., all nearby! (See "Area Activities" for more info.)
And, for some real fun, come sailing on our 30' Sailboat !! We also offer sailing tours daily, (www.sailingchartersmalpais.com) during the high season, from the fishing village in Mal Pais. Reservations may be made in advance via email.
